Meet Kaytryn

Raised by a music educatior, Kaytryn has been studying–and loving–music for most of her life.
Early Years
Kaytryn remembers that her mother would have her and her siblings perform as often as possible. “I always felt like I was part of the Von Trapp family from The Sound of Music.” Kaytryn credits her mother with sparking her love for music.
formal Education/Experience
Kaytryn studied Vocal Music Education with a piano emphasis at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with her Bachelor of Music Education, certified to teach K-12 and is a Texas Certified Teacher. She began her teaching career in the renowned Katy ISD as a junior high choir director. Kaytryn has 20+ years experience accompanying soloists and ensembles.

Kaytryn opened her own private studio in 2015 and has been teaching piano and voice lessons to children of varying ages. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, the Texas Music Teachers Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, and the Katy Music Teachers Association.

Philosophy
Lessons should focus not only on learning necessary skills but on enjoying music and building a lifelong appreciation for it. I value students’ individuality and personality and work hard to develop each budding musician.
